How Do You Play Atari?

I've tried emulation,but theres always something off or missing.In my experience,or the ones ive played anyway,are never %100 on.I like to play the original games on an original console,any other way is not the same for me.

Emulation on the Wii is great. I play games in 480p on my 50 inch plasma tv. Its not the real thing, but close enough. It's better than playing on a PC. I have my collection packed up since we are moving, so emulation is the only way to play now.

i use a sears 4 switcher. i have a heavy sixer and it's in great condition on a display shelf. but for everyday use, i prefer my telegames

I use a light sixer upstairs and a 7800 downstairs (at least I did before I packed it up). I didn't realize that the 4 switchers were more popular. Almost everyone I have ever known with an Atari had a 6 switch of some sort!

Primarily my Sears Heavy Sixer. If proof is needed, well, I could take a picture...

Sometimes I'll use the 7800. I should be using it this week since it's easier to get to the right joystick port for Wizard of Wor.

No, but there is a version of the overlay for Space Shuttle only fits the six-er. I believe one of each came with the game.

I just use the Jr. It is the easiest to set up and I don't want to break my four switched woody.... and my other vader and tele-games models don't work too well.

chose combo of all but when in my game room its either my Heavy sixer or 7800

and in living room Emulator via Wii

The combo option is miles ahead a I figured it would be.

I think the setup I have is perfect for my home.

Stella set up on my computer here in the den and the Vader hooked to the TV in my bedroom so that way which either end of the house I happen to be in I can play Atari if I choose.

i use a light sixer. i think the sears video arcade is kind of ugly, that silver or white panel dosent match.

Heavy Sixer for me. Although I have other models, I always play my Heavy Sixer for all of the following reasons:

 

1. Nostalgia - It's the model I had as a kid.

I use a 4 switch woodgrain in the big atari case that holds everything. But whats the Wii atari emulator? I have a Wii but I have NEVER heard of any emulator on it. HALP please?

I play my Atari games on either emulation, or on the Atari 7800 (ver. 3), 5200 (4 port), Jaguar, and Lynx II consoles.

 

Above picture is my "retro rig" consisting of a Zenith Console tv circa 1985, Atari 7800, and Atari 5200. The metal Case contains my games for the 2600, 5200, and 7800.

 

 

Emulation is through Stella, Prosystem, Kat5200, and Handy. There is no "good" Jag emulator, so that is all done via physically.
