Y'know, I gots myself a couple of problems with how Telegames does business.

First off, what in the BLUE HELL is the deal with a one day sale? Sure, it's a specific holiday sale, but if they were truly interested in garnering interest in their sales, not to mention actually MAKING some purchases happen, they'd have a week long sale. Not everybody is online daily.

Still, I happened to be online that Monday, and I got the email. SO, I rushed to their site to buy myself Breakout 2000.

Here's problem #2: Most online sites, you see an item, you click the "Buy it now" button and BOOM, it's in the electronic cart. Not Telegames. You click on their "Order Form" and you have to fill in ALL the info for the item: the system name, the game name, the cost, etc. Not only that, but in order to use the 20% off sale, I had to "do the math" myself and type in the updated cost. Then, I had to type in the shipping cost and the total. Just seems like a lot of work to be making the customer do, y'know? (What, has Best Buy and OfficeMax.com spoiled me too much?)

Oh, but the worst bit? Once I typed in all that, and all my personal and credit card info, and hit SEND, I got a dialog box telling me, basically, that hitting SEND will shoot my private info, via email, to Telegames. No security of any kind!

But I was desperate, so I hit SEND again. And instead of sending anything, I suddenly was staring at a "Write Email" screen. Seems Telegames service isn't compatible with AOL, which, all EWWWs aside, is my primary ISP.

I got an email the next day, from Telegames, telling me:

We have received a blank order form from you (very common for AOL

subscribers). Perhaps you are experiencing some browser conflict, so just

e-mail complete ordering details to this account for prompt processing.

For additional ordering methods go here: http://www.telegames.com/ordering.htm

Thank you for shopping with TelegamesDirect, we appreciate your business.

-----------------

They agreed to extend the sale "one more day" for me, but I dunno. I have to decide now, just how desperate am I for B2K? Do I really want to send my credit card info over unencrypted airwaves? What would my enemies think?

*sigh* I guess I'll have to wait until their next "one day" sale, and see how it goes.

what i didnt like about them, and had sent in a "complain" email about was when suddenly they added a "order processing charge" I said "what is that, to make up for some money taken off for the discount? that pretty ridiculous and im not buying that little charge"

They replied, "yeah youre right it does cover for some money taken off for the discount, how would you like it if YOU were losing money. We try to make it up that way"

Nice answer arsehole

They are xpensive - they think they'll get rid of all those 3do games for 30.00 a peice? plus processing charges, shipping charges? when you can get them on ebay brand new or mint for 5-10$?

give me a break - i dont bother with telegames :)
