Starscream Posted October 15, 2002 Share Posted October 15, 2002 Man, I am in the posting mood tonight......Ok, if you read and cared about my thoughts in Violence in games, well here's my take on nudity. I think it's worthless. No need for it. It will add absolutely NOTHING to any game. I can't imagine any game being better because some girl is running around naked. In real life - that's another story, in a porno - great, but in a game, it would be pretty useless. Say there's another Max Payne and you are sneaking into a drug house to knock off some baddies, you peek around the corner and BAM!!, some hooters lookin back at you. Why?! All that would do is make me use another bullet. If you are sitting there thinking " hey, I'd like that!" then think about this - playing the next Metal Gear, peek around a corner, and BAM! some guys little winky staring back at you. Wouldn't be too cool now huh? See what I mean? Useless. We need more realism, but some things will not make a bit of difference so why bother..... Big deal nude women - now the mommy's are going to complain (if they havent already) please give me a break its a fuking video game - end of story. If you gotta get yer jollies from a video game, comic book, manga cartoon, or what have you, it is time to get out of the basement, take a shower, and try to become part of the civilized world. Yeah, I used to think comic book girls were hot....when I was 14, then I felt up Trina Leatherman at the county fair and somehow She-Hulk just didn't do it for me anymore.... Nudity in video games is gratutious, useless, and just plain sad. I mean think about it, there is a pathetic little man somewhere who has to contruct the graphics for that polygon porn queen. It is obvious a tactic used by a manufacturer to try to drive sales to what is probably an inferior game. Why could those worshipers in that temple simply be wearing robes? I am certainly against almost any form of censorship (minors excluded) but I know I would be quite upset if i purchesed a game for my child then found that there was nudity in it. I at least hope there are plain disclosures on the packaging.( I am sure there is to help sell the game) I also think this does a disservice to those buying the games for this reason. Many of the greatest movies have included sex in them, so why is it that video games cannot? I agree that adding a naked people into a game for the sake of getting attention isn't probably the correct way to do things, but I think that games will only grow in content by being allowed to do anything.
