Voltman3
My 4port is hooked up to a small 12" TV and it starts in B&W. If I change the channel on the TV it gives me color. Try going up or down 1 or 2 channels, maybe it'll work for you too ? Later-

voiddweller
my 5200 does not display color whats up?? I had the exact same problem with my 4 port. If Voltman3's suggestions didn't work, you may want to try replacing the ICs. There are three and you can buy them through Brad at BestElectronics ($5 each?) or pull them out of a working MOBO. Here is the information he sent me. I hope you find it helpful! From Brad: "1. Try to adjust the RF modulator. Sometimes these electronically drift and have to be adjusted. 2. Adjust the 500K color Pot on the right front of the Motherboard. 3. Try the 2600 Trouble shooting tips at the Best Web site. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/2600_help.htm - (yeah, I know he said 2600, but some of it is valid) 4. Next, try replacing the GTIA chip (CO14805), Antic Chip (CO12296) and then the CPU (CO14806) Chips. The last option would be getting a new 4 port Atari 5200 motherboard." FYI - I decided to go with the new MOBO, since Brad sells the final 4 port revision Atari produced. This means it will play ALL 5200 games AND can use the VCS adapter! Charlie_
I had a 2 port that started in black and white and after a few minutes "warmed up" and I got color. I replaced all the bug chips from a broken 4 port mother board and it's perfect now. Charlie
