Atari Heavy Sixer vs. Sears Heavy Sixer

Tough question... I like them both and have them both, but the Atari look to me is much more nostalgic. I like the birdseye woodgrain on the Sears though.

I like the Jr model but I find the color intensity is always low in comparison to all the other models.

637 is simply the manufacturer code for Sears products made by Atari, Inc.

497 is Mattel, Inc.

I like how the Sears difficulty switches are labeled "Novice" and "Expert". Much easier to figure out than "A" and "B" on the Atari model.

Oh, that's right! I forgot about that, but that is how the last Sears unit I used was labeled. I actually don't have any Sears units now, although I believe my parents still have one. Just a 4-switch, though.

Wow, what an old thread! I was just thinking the other day it was time to take the Video Arcade in and ask for parts again. I actually just repaired it and the vacuum cleaner not too long ago. The vacuum cleaner still burns up belts, and the VCS still burns up Gorgons, so nothing's changed much.

 

I still am thinking of getting an Atari Heavy Sixer at some point. I might consider trading for or even buying one at the upcoming Midwest City Game Expo.
