Tapper

Tapper was released in the UK by US Gold in 1985.

The link points to Rubber ball game ;) And Tapper from Atarimania has different menu screen (see below) than on the screens posted here, hopefully not changed scoring?

Great game! 48,800 (Round 7) Arcade :)

Yes seems Atarimania have both links going to the UK version which doesn't have all the different drinking establishments. A good ATR version is on atari.pl here the one called v4 is the original, or try the xex version on Fandal's site here

Just for interest here's the final table from Tapper back in HSC Season 4... remember them good ole days poobah ;)

poobah 387,800 8

Jimmy Lee 200,275 6

devwebcl 141,475 4

goochman 80,750 2

_Fandal_ 59,800 1

jdh 31,300 1

mimo 18,600

Hmmm, there's a problem with playing this game competively... the worse you do the more points you get... not enough bonus for completing a level. Take my goes below; I got 68K on a go where I was stuck on level 7 and 28K on a good go where I got to level 10 :ponder:

So how about we post our levels as well as scores and do the table on level reached :?: Any other ideas :?:

TRBB - That is the funny thing on this game - best way to score is work the early levels since ultimately it gets to a speed you cant beat.

I dont think level counting should weigh much.

Are you're saying each level gets progressively harder until it gets to a point where you need to clear it to survive? I just assumed you could play a level forever without really trying to beat it, which seemed a bit pointless...

at the higher levels you cant do this - the lower levels yes

I still don't think this is any good to play for score... I think you can survive forever on most levels without a sweat, the only way you are out is when you try and clear the level... 98,075 (arcade). Did it stay on level 10 or was that my imagination... Expert just starts you on level 6.. oh well I suppose a week off will encourage me to do some programming :|
