King Atari
What's the easiest, most reliable 5200 emulator to get? I don't want what happened to me with the 7800 MESS to happen again.
Inky
I don't think there is an acceptable easiest - most accurate one on there. I go for accuract, and VSS is probably the best, while I think Jum's is the easiest. Put a frontend on VSS, though and its another story. oesii
I usually use this page to keep me updated on the latest version of each 5200 emulator: http://www.zophar.net/a5200.html I personally recommend Atari800WinPlus for your 5200 emu needs. King Atari
Okay, what do you guys suggest? I need one to mainly play some of the classic arcade ports: Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Defender, Congo Bongo, Kangaroo, Jungle Hunt, etc. Which one should I get that's easy enough to set up, and plays the majority of the games? My suggestion, since they are all free, get them all. If a game doesn't work well with one, try another. Dan
Voltman3
KA As far as simple Emu's go IMO. DL- VSS [EMU] and Reagle Beagle [FrontEnd]. Put the the EMU, FE, and the Roms all in the same folder. Open RB and D-click the rom and your playing ! It doesnt get any easier than that, I dont think. Later- have fun.
icbrkr
I'm using JUM52 to test my game in development. So far, that and VSS work well. Brian
Goochman
I think the 5200emu in Atari800Win works pretty good - not to mention you can manage all your 8bit needs in one basket there
Inky
I have a problem with that emu and the upper and lower fire buttons on the 5200.. But for 8-bit computers, the thing is a champ!
