I hate use of the word 'pak' in auction descriptions

I hate the word "RARE" when used with E.T., or Combat.

 

usually found in conjunction with "vintage" "this is it!" and "impossible to find"

And I forgot to mention my disdain for anyone referring to modern game controllers as 'paddles.'

I hate when food products use the word "lite",,,thats so annoying

I didn't make myself clear. If a product is officially a 'pak' like the HES stuff, well, that's unavoidable. Even use of 'pak' to describe a cartridge (especially for an obscure system like Coco) is ok, although to be avoided.

 

I don't like it when people auction a set and call it a 'pak':

 

Atari 2600 Game Pak with System, 45 Games

 

Best Game Pak Atari Intellivision

 

Nintendo System Pak with 32 games, ROB

 

 

 

Phonetically it shouldn't sound like 'pack', should it? It should sound more like 'pock', and nobody wants that.

The carts for the tandy color computer are called "rompaks" or "rom paks" although ebay sellers don't generally refer to them that way.

I think just about every famicom cart says "cassette" on it

Agreed. Or especially when they call carts "discs" or "disks." While on the subject, when referring to a game disc as a "disk" that annoys me too.
