chuckwalla
Anyone own this or play it (Atarimania has it on their database) and how does it rate in comparison to the 2600 and 5200 version?
cyco130
It's available here. I never played 2600 or 5200 versions so I can't compare but I like this one.
Urchlay
I never played 2600 or 5200 versions so I can't compare but I like this one. IIRC, Vanguard was never actually released for the 8-bit, and the 8-bit version is a conversion from the 5200.

Hey cyco, Out of curiosity, is the control scheme such that you just point in the desired direction to fire? - it looks like another great game for the 8-bit. Thanks. Thanks. Yes, and you can configure it for single fire or repeat fire. I like this version better than the arcade original. Another great port by GCC. +therealbountybob
I've played this long ago, it's a good game but I think it's a tad slow on the first level and then speeds up nicely (might be making this up now). I think the other negative is it starts a new go immediately so you don't see your score. Fun game with a great tune and end of level, think the continuous fire option is best
