Kris Snyder
Somewhere along the line, I lost the original video cable that came with my 7800. It's got one of those replacements with a built in switchbox - but I'm having to run yet another (coaxial) cable through it to the TV just to get it to play, and I'm given to understand that the resultant picture quality is way suckier this way (in fact, I'm getting red and blue snow with it on a CBT television - and a constant, loud background hiss too)... I see that they have both an RCA RF cable and a coaxial (F-type) to female RCA adapter for sale in the Atari Age store - but would that be all I need to resolve the situation? I'm guessing no, because what's really confusing me is that the replacement cable you can order has, for some reason, only male connectors... +jsmith73
I run my consoles with the RCA/coax adapter and an after market RCA cable. Works like a champ!
mimo
If you really want the best picture you need to do an s-video mod. If you can hold a soldering iron the longhornengineer mods are awesome http://www.longhornengineer.com/Videomods/Videomods

Yes, that's the typical setup: +this: I'm guessing no, because what's really confusing me is that the replacement cable you can order has, for some reason, only male connectors... You only want male connectors on the RCA cable. The console port is female, and the receiving end of the RCA->F adapter is also female.
