Philflound
In fact, I think someone is selling the lot of 3 sealed on Ebay right now for like $15 BIN. [Mythicon] Those are just unfolded boxes, which are cool, but not sealed/CIB. I don't ebay, but I'd have picked those up anyway if it had been $15 for all 3 sealed with reasonable shipping. I thought those were sealed. I remember paying $15 for my set of 3 from someone. Thought maybe it was the same person. Though I picked my set up like 5 years ago or something. Chris Leach
I have viewed this thread so many times and never left a posting here?+ I have well over 2,000 Atari 2600 carts. Sure there are doubles in there..maybe triples and so on, but I do collect Pal...NTSC and label variations. If I go somewhere and they are selling Atari games for a good price...say a buck or so..I will pick most up, unless they are plum dirt or copies of Pac-man/ Combat. Although the Combat 26 variations thread has led me to believe there is a need to collect Combat carts. I may have variations no one else has, but I keep my games in a dark secluded Cave so there is no way of knowing unless I spent a week going through them. Found a cart of that Phantom PAL ?? game a couple months ago and posted pics of that for romhunter..... I have most of the Atari 2600 carts according to Video Game Collector magazines checklist, but I am missing about 20>? Last I checked...Ones like coke wins....pepsi invaders....some of the porn games....and the extreme rares..someday if I find them in the wild I will pick them up (egggh choke ha!) I have some homebrews/repros...less than 20 and I am ok owning a repro, but I havnt gotten any repros that were actually released....maybe that makes them protos?....I really like homebrews! Philflound
You never know what you're going to find in a box. And it's good that you "save" the 2600 games when you find them for a buck or less. Some of these flea market people just leave them sitting in the sun getting baked. This ruins labels, and possibly will ruin the cartridge. I recently acquired a "melted" cartridge. It's possible it will still fit in the unit, but I'm not holding my breath. Phil
Tickled_Pink
Newbie collector here, 97 in box, 3 unboxed. Still way more than me! Haven't counted but about 50+ loose and about 10 boxed (probably half NIB). Just haven't the cash or room to blow on any collectables at the minute.
