Dragon's Lair 3D Gone Gold!

Uh-huh. How can a game that hasn't been released yet go "gold," ie, sell a million copies? It can't. This is just so much PR-propoganda.

However, I HAVE been waiting for the release of this game and am excited to see it's about to hit the shelves. Sadly, it was supposed to be released for ALL systems at the same time. Looks like the M$ systems get it first. *Sigh*

Hi Sniderman, in the game publishing biz, 'Gone Gold' means that the final touches have been added to the game and its ready to be pressed to CD. I've seen it used in the last few years when a game is about 2 weeks away from retail. It's got nothing to do with sales, you've been listening to too many Elvis records :P

Oh-HO! This was not a phrase I'd heard before. Although, when an album goes gold (or platinum, etc.), it's a measure of sales. And I HAVE heard this phrase used in game sales to mark how many copies of a game was sold, so it's not unheard of.

However, thanks for setting me straight. I'm still pissed that the PS2 version won't be out until next year though.

I agree with you, I thought it was slated for the PS2 right away. Here's hoping they release a demo for the PC so we can try it out soon without having to buy it right away. And no, Microsoft I won't buy an Xbox just for this game ;)
