Albert
I've just installed support for Tapatalk, which allows you to access the AtariAge forums via apps for the iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia phones. It's not perfect (search doesn't seem to work, which is probably because we are using a third-party search module), but it does make for fast browsing of the forum. Plus, you can upload images to the forum, which you cannot do with the mobile skin. Seems to work pretty well and it's nice to have another alternative for browsing and posting on the forums. Here is a blurb directly from Tapatalk with more information: -- Tapatalk is a mobile forum app for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Nokia. Tapatalk supports all the usual forum functions plus full screen image viewing, image upload, caching (less reload), private messaging, all these features are accessible in just a few simple taps. Tapatalk for iPhone: Showing New and Unread Posts: Full Thread Viewing and Pagination Support: See Who's Online: Reply to Post and Image Upload: Some of the large forums activated Tapatalk support Tapatalk for Android Total Android Look and Feel Same feature set as iPhone: Quickly Reply to a conversation: Latest and Unread Posts indicator and multi-tabs support: Full screen image support - support landscape mode also Check out http://www.tapatalk.com for more information! -- Here's are links to the Tapatalk apps in the iTunes store for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Albert
Tapatalk was updated yesterday and is now a universal app. Works well on my iPad. That's great, thanks for the heads up. Will go grab it now. What I'm waiting for is them to support Sphinx in Invision boards. They already do for vBulletin, and Sphinx support has been a standard option for Invision for nearly a year. This causes problems on some of the pages in Tapatalk on AtariAge. ..Al
+SpiceWare
Should uploading of images work for "this forum" or only for "Tapatalk hosted"? If "this forum" worked before, it doesn't now.
Albert
Should uploading of images work for "this forum" or only for "Tapatalk hosted"? If "this forum" worked before, it doesn't now. I just tested this myself and uploading images to "This Forum" doesn't work for me, either. I already tried removing and reinstalling the app (as suggested by someone on Tapatalk's support forum), but that did not work. It's possible they simply do not support uploading photos to IP.Board 3.1.x forums, which would be sad. Will try to get a definitive answer and/or solution. ..Al
Albert
Well, it looks like they simply do not have support for uploading images directly to Invision forums for some reason. Disappointing, since that's one of the big selling points for this app. Here's a post from one of their developers: http://tapa.tk/forum/showthread.php?p=25151#post25151 I asked whether they plan on adding support for Invision and if so, when we can expect it. Invision does have their own iOS app which allows you to upload photos to your Gallery albums, but I don't see any way to actually ACCESS your Gallery while in the app, so there's no easy way to actually reference the photo you just uploaded. Here is their app: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ip-board-communities/id372597645?mt=8 ..Al
