boxes of sawdust
I'm really glad I found this site, I've been browsing around the store and I'm very eager to play some of the homebrews and hacks that are for sale. I think I'm going to get the haunted adventure trilogy hack first because I love Adventure so I know I'll enjoy it. As far as homebrews go, the only one I've played is "A VCS-tec Challenge" cause I managed to find a rom file of it a while back. What homebrews would you atari maniacs most recommend to someone like me who's just starting to get into this exciting concept? Thanks in advance everyone!

+LS650
I like CD-W's list. I own Ladybug and Seawolf, and have tried out the others. I recently bought Gunfight! and that is also a great game.

+Nathan Strum
A lot of it depends on what type of game you like to play. There's something for just about everyone... For a short list, I'd suggest: Lady Bug Juno First Medieval Mayhem Fall Down Strat-O-Gems Deluxe Bang-for-your-buck wise, it's hard to go wrong with multi-carts: Sync Stella's Stocking 2005 MiniGame MultiCart For a long list, here's a link to all of the reviews I've written so far. It covers most of the homebrews currently available.
e1will
For a short list, I'd suggest: Lady Bug Juno First Medieval Mayhem Fall Down Strat-O-Gems Deluxe I second all of these. Great games. I've spent way too much time playing Strat-O-Gems lately. Other great games (as mentioned above) are Thrust and Conquest of Mars. --Will
Buck
Star Fire. My favorite without a doubt.
Cebus Capucinis
Juno First! :lust: and Ladybug! :lust: Easily neck-and-neck for "bet homebrews ever made" in my opinion. Very solid games with amazing graphics that just blow you away. I play them a ton and each time I turn on the VCS I am stunned. "You mean the 2600 is capable of THIS? Wow!" DickNixonArisen
I heartily endorse Go Fish! and Crazy Balloon. Return to castle wolfenstein was fun. As far as the negative, I don't really like skeleton(+). That's more of a game type issue though, just not my thing. And the abysmal abyss is worth it, but of course only if you really like venture, which I do.
+atari2600land
I agree with Cebus. Juno First and Ladybug. I also put up Strat-O-Gems Deluxe, a fun Columns-type game.
littleman jack
These three are amazing: Seawolf Oystron Gunfight and in the hacks, Wolfenstein VCS (so hacked that it seems like an entirely new game) is great fun. Also Flap Ping is a lot of fun with two players.
