Havok69
So I just got my 1030 modem which I plan on using to house my SIO2PC. Upon opening the case, the board has an edge connector on it. I was not aware there were ever any user upgrades available for it back in the day. Perhaps something planned but never implemented? Does anyone know if there was such a thing, or did Tramiel screw that up too? Here's a pic of the board: Edited May 28, 2010 by Havok69

The best way to upgrade an Atari modem... 1) take an Atari modem 2) gut the Atari modem 3) put a 56K modem in shell. Havok69
Haha - good list. I guess I am effectively following that by putting the SIO2PC in there...
sloopy
atari had nothing to do with the modem except put the shell on it... it was made by racal-vadic... same with the 835 acoustic, its a novation cat with a (less modified) novation shell... and for mine, sd2sio is in the plans for it... sloopy.
