I'm pretty certain that's the only way to do it.

Unless you can buy Wii Points cards from a retailer, credit/debit card is the only way.

I have bought two cards worth of wii points, forty bucks worth, and while that was ok, I'd actually be pretty scared to have my credit card hooked up to the Wii. I have poor impulse control and I really like video games.

It doesn't save your credit card information. Unlike other platforms, you have to type it in every time you make a purchase. Kind of annoying for people like myself that tend to buy virtual console games when they are drunk, but I can see it being a good thing when it comes to security.

I found out I was able to use my Visa debit card to purchase Wii points online, which was great.
