NE146
Oh lord.. I was just watching TV (on G4tv, the "all-videogame" channel) and they just showed a commercial with Howard Scott Warshaw. Basically it was (forgive me if I get this wrong, but it's the gist of it): <crappy music> "Hi Do you know me?" (cut to HSW doing some ridiculous dance) "I'm Howard Scott Warshaw" (cut to HSW doing some ridiculous dance) <Yars Revenge gameplay shot> "I designed Yars Revenge, one of the best videogames of all time" (cut to HSW doing some ridiculous dance) <E.T. gameplay shot> "I also designed E.T., one the of worst videogames of all time" (cut to HSW doing some ridiculous dance) "G4tv... Know Your History" (cut to HSW doing some ridiculous dance) Maybe it wouldn't have been so horrible.. but OH THAT DANCING!!

Albert
I don't get G4 TV. It's too bad, as this commercial sounds rather amusing. ..Al

Scott Stilphen
Somebody has GOT to get a tape of that!
gavv
Actually, G4 must have filmed several of those promos at CGE, because the only one I've seen on G4 is one with a guy (forget the name offhand) who designed some watch-based game gavv so hopefully there'll be a slew more ^^ and yes, it appears the 'silly little dance' is a theme, since this other one featured it too
Room 34
The commercials MIGHT appear on G4's web site... http://www.g4media.com/
AtariDude
Sure wish I had G4 in my local area. Sounds like a great channel to have. How much time is spent on classic video games? I am assuming that G4 spends most of its time on modern games and consoles.
NE146
Sure wish I had G4 in my local area. Sounds like a great channel to have. How much time is spent on classic video games? I am assuming that G4 spends most of its time on modern games and consoles. Yes. But they do have a surprising amount of classic game references. The ones that come to mind are: The "Icons" episode on Activision. "Icons" is a great half hour show which showcases the history of a particular subject. There are also episodes on Shiegero Miyamoto. But the best episode is the one on Pacman. Luckily, there are only a few episodes they've shot, so they repeat ad-naseum. So it makes them easy to catch. Mentions, screenshots, and gameplay hints for 2600 Haunted House during their Halloween episode of "Cheat". Their newsbit about Warren Robinett and the first easter egg in 2600 Adventure. It was on their newshow "Pulse". Coverage of CGE and discussion regarding same. Their newsbit about Intellivision and interviews with the programmers. Their "Know your history" commercials The Tempest style promo commercial Oh yeah, and of course, who can forget Starcade. Various other things I can't remember. But yeah they definitely have various classic references spotted througout
