Divya16
I was comparing various PC / Atari stuff from 1980s and this one on Atarimania: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-400-800-xl-xe-big-bird-s-special-delivery_7100.html I have the PC original 5.25" disk but modern PCs no longer have a 5.25" disk drives. Anyone have the image disk for the PC version of this same software or how to transfer the 5.25" disk to an image disk. I suppose I can then use DOSBOX to run the image disk. Or if the files run on current PCs without requiring an image disk, how to get the files off the 5.25" disk. I guess to sum up, is there an Atarimania type site for PC disk images of these types of software on 5.25" disks?

Very discouraging site. It has a warning: "WARNING: Maybe found old boot virus in the images."

OTOH, isn't that true for about everything else one downloads?

OTOH, isn't that true for about everything else one downloads? I downloaded tosac1200-1299.rar and extracted 1273. I guess it is an image of big bird. It has no extension so the site says it is a epl file and will only work if written to a real floppy, which means you aren't able to run it in DOSBOX? I'm not familiar with dosbox nor images of pc floppies. I checked 1273 at virustotal and it returns clean, so I don't believe any boot sector virus. Why not just use a big bird special delivery in atari800winplus4 for the A8? That would get you the program on a PC with no floppy drive? Here's the 1273 image, zipped: 1273.zip

Here's from Holme's on pigwa: http://ftp.pigwa.net/stuff/collections/holmes%20cd/Holmes%202/XEX%20Files%20-%20Atari%20Executables/Games/index.html I guess you're trying to compare PC and A8 versions of BBSD, and want to run it on a PC with no floppy drive. You could buy a PC floppy that plugs into a USB port. BigBirdsSpecialDelivery.zip Edited September 24, 2010 by russg

I got a floppy drive and using files on original disk, it looks like crap-- the characters are cut off and the graphics are all inrecognizable. I guess they may be assuming some CGA/EGA type of graphics mode that my current VGA card doesn't handle.
