Game/program Diskettes

Hi all!

 

I've only really been into Atari for a short time and only really know the limitations of other systems like the C=64 in regards to regions.

 

Will program diskettes work in a PAL device, or do the diskettes strictly follow PAl/NSTC restrictions?

With extremely few exceptions, they're universal.

 

Some modern games won't work on NTSC - and one or two older games used a region locking kind of system.

nice, thanks man! I was getting pissed at having a 1050 that does nothing but look at me being sad for me having nothing to stick in it besides the protector an DOS disc

So, no APE/SIO2PC interface yet? You can build one for like 6 bucks.

 

If you have an Atari cassette drive, we could probably rig some system to transfer ATRs to real floppies, but it would be a bit of a slow and tedious process.

 

You'd need to create cassettes by recording via the PC sound output on a normal tape recorder, then do sector copies from Atari tape drive to disk drive.

Get the original's Arkanoid, most of the archives on the interweb are mostly hacked or cracked versions...so just get the original's (you won't be disappointed)

 

Originals as in disks and tapes/carts etc in their original packaging etc (as in, playable on a pucka A8)

I'm sure he'd love to spend over $1,000 and the best part of 10 years just accumulating the 50 or so must-have best games.

Some do that and don't even play's 'em. Collector's are the crrrraziest's people's.

lol... i hate cracks, i get a similar problem with my SD2IEC and C=64. Half of the cracked games won't work and the rest are the wrong format
