littleman jack
I posted this in the 5200 forum as well, hopefully that's okay. Was Venture ever made for the 8-bits? Or anything resembling it? I loved the arcade game, and often played my 2600 version. But I've always wished for an 8-bit version, to take it closer to the arcade. Having said that, Wolfenstein VCS (2600 hack) is very close to what I envisioned it being like for the 8-bits.

JamesD
I'd love to see this finished but there is a big difference between simple animated screens and a full game.

ZylonBane
But will you guys ever learn how to do clean display transitions without a frame or two of garbage data flashing on the screen? +Stephen
Well, we all know you are a master games coder who contributes tons to the 8-bit world. Maybe you can share some code to teach those lamers?
ZylonBane
Kill all video DMA. Set up new display. Re-enable DMA in VBI. It's not rocket science.
+Larry
Probably the closest thing that I'm aware of is "Fortune Hunter" circa 1982 from Romox. I think that one could argue that several of the "go into the room and escape alive" games are pretty similar, but Venture had a neat quality all its own, especially the ColecoVision version. My daughter and I played that for hours back in the day. (sigh!) -Larry I posted this in the 5200 forum as well, hopefully that's okay. Was Venture ever made for the 8-bits? IndusGT
kjmann.. How about telling everyone why you are not answering e-mails and where's everyone's orders? I'd love to see this finished but there is a big difference between simple animated screens and a full game.
