bomberpunk
i didn't properly link words, but i did add the little tidbit about the 2006 gameboy advance release. it's a 3-in-1 cart by DSI games which also includes Asteroids / Pong. these things are going for $4.50 in a nearby Big Lots store. Pong really blows with a D-Pad.
Rex Dart
Ah, I'd like to get my hands on a copy of the Activision Anthology cart for GBA. The nearest store I can find with a copy is a several-hour drive away, and tough to find on ebay for less than $20-25.
+FujiSkunk
The GBA Activision Anthology was a disappointment, in my opinion. For the most part the games run way too slowly.
Rex Dart
I played a bit of it on an emulator & wasn't sure if the slowness was part of the game code or the hardware & emulator's fault. I figure it'd still be worth a few bucks though...
+wood_jl
I have this cart, and I never noticed it slow. I have to admit, I pretty much only play Megamania and Dragster, so maybe there are other titles which are slow? Specifically, what games were you guys playing when you noticed slowdown? scogey
Anthology is awesome....I have had it for a few years and it has some great features 1. high score lists for all game variations 2. Unlock patches by scoring the original required points for each game 3. Some cool prototype games...and some weird unfinished things 4. manuals included and even original box art 5. Cool menu interface that looks like the typical 80's kids bedroom I have the original "Activision Classics" for PS1...and Anthology blows that one away Also I can't say I noticed any slowness although if you went back and forth with Anthology and the original carts...I would imagine you might notice some difference

The other releases of Activision Anthology for consoles like the PS2 are much, much better than what the GBA got.
scogey
Yeah...I'm talking about the GBA version as well....for me the gameplay seems pretty true to original
Cynicaster
Is the GBA cart an emulation-style anthology, or a collection of modern interpretations? That would rock to have Atari classics on the go. I had the PS1 Activision thing and I thought it sucked the high hard one. The sound effects were hit and miss, the motion was choppy, the d-pad control sucks (IMO), and there were even some graphical glitches. For instance, on Enduro, the wheels of your car didn't even have the "spinning" effect. Total disappointment for me.
scogey
I want to say it's not emulator...but I can check and find out....If it's not...it's a darn good representation...and I highly reccommend if you have a GBA
