Without this fine gentleman, we may never have experienced the delights of Rescue on Fractalus, Koronis Rift or The Eidolon, and the world would be poorer without them. RIP. UNIXcoffee928
This should have been big headlines, but it received very little coverage in America, which is very sad. Also noteworthy was the completion of the longest tunnel ever built, under the Alps, by a an extraordinary group of engineers & workmen... this received very little coverage, either. Yet we Go All Out for the passing of Michael Jackson, and we have a huge media frenzy for the failure to correctly dig a mineshaft. Bah. The news over here is nothing but a distraction of the real events going on outside, in the entire rest of the world. For a short while, someone was posting SBC World News (broadcast out of Australia) to a newsgroup. It was fascinating to see a new program with no spin, no commercials, and no sensationalism. Simply a reading of real news from around the world. Novel concept.
