colonelsnow
Along the right side of the menu screen there are random missing lines in the graphics. Instead of all green there are lines of black. Is this likely a problem with the Harmony cart or my 2600
A.J. Franzman
Try flipping the TV type switch to B&W. Do the "black" lines scroll now? If so, it's probably just your TV is adjusted too dark -- increase the brightness. Otherwise, if all the games play fine, I don't know what the problem could be. colonelsnow
I am not describing it very well. It is not lines all the way across. It is more like missing pixels along the edges in a somewhat random pattern. Switching to black and white has no impact. It does the same thing in games. GroovyBee
If its along the left edge only like these in Berzerk :- http://www.atariage.com/screenshot_page.html?SoftwareLabelID=29 That is perfectly normal for a 2600 game.
colonelsnow
It is a random missing pattern , not what is part of the game program. I just tried a regular cart and there is no problem. It is something with the Harmony cart
GroovyBee
What cart did you try? Can you take a picture of the problem happening on the TV?

It is something with the Harmony cart It's hard to say what the problem is without seeing pictures, or better yet, a short video, if possible. If the menu and games otherwise work normally, it is likely to be RF interference. Some have reported that before with Harmony and were able to fix it by putting a ferrite bead on the video cable. colonelsnow
Attached is a picture. Notice the missing blocks on the left side. Edited October 23, 2010 by colonelsnow
+SpiceWare
Those are HMOVE lines and are normal as GroovyBee said. You're seeing them against the black background because your set's brightness is too high - turn it down until you don't see them anymore.
