The_Laird
There was a post about this somewhere else, it was a shill bidder than won it
Odysseus
The weird thing is the $1400 bid was from a bidder who only had 1% activity with the seller. Who knows. but I would definately call the winning bid a shill.
OldAtarian
There may have only been one legit bidder in the whole list of bidders. The first bidder is no longer a registered user and the last two bidders both look like they have similar names but with different feedback numbers. The legit bidder only bid around $25.00 so rather than sell it for that the seller created a couple of shills to bring it up and then he'll claim non-payment to avoid the hefty ebay fees on $1425.00. Why do people do stupid crap like this instead of setting a reserve or minimum bid? To save a few pennies in fees? If you start a no reserve auction at one cent then you can't always expect to get what you want for your stuff. It doesn't mean you walk away from the winner if they haven't bid high enough. If the bidder is legally obligated to buy when the auction ends (and some sellers will take legal action if you don't follow through) then the seller should be legally obligated to sell for the winning bid even if he ends up taking a beating on the item. GKC
Perhaps I don't understand how shill bidding works but what is the point of bidding $1400 plus on a Jag with 2 games? No sane bidder (other than a shill bid) will bid something even remotely close to that let alone a winning bid. So all the guy is doing is making it so not one will win it. Perhaps he got sellers remorse and decided he wanted to keep it so placed a bid that he knew no one would beat and if they did, oh well go buy yourself 10 new Jaguars. Its because these people are idiots and actually believe its worth much more than it is "Its one of them Atari's they are like antiques now one went for $40,000 earlier this year" Or something like that as they wrongly recall the action for Air Raid
