Reever Raad (updated with scans!)

I just got my package from Marco today (thanks Marco!) with the copy of Tooth Protectors I won, and he threw in an unexpected surprise. By the label, which reads "Reever Raad," I could pretty much assume what game it was going to be; but I figured it was some weird PAL bootleg of the game that wouldn't play on my 2600 or would lose vertical hold. Lo and behold, I pop it in and flip on the switch and it displays PERFECTLY. The colors? Wow. If that's what people playing it in PAL saw, I feel for you. The only "Reever" you could "Raad" that way would be one on Mars! I looked around to see if this one was in the AA database anywhere but couldn't come across it. So, if the Al's so request, I'll scan the label. :D

If you can scan it for us, we'll add it to the db and post the scans.

Will do. BTW I should add that in another thread, Marco told me the cart was a Brazilian import that uses PAL-M standard; which is apparently close enough to US NTSC that this is the reason it works.

If that artwork on the top label looks familiar, look at the artwork on a Sancho or John Sands box, especially the explosions... and then, look at the artwork on the Atari 32in1 box, more precisely the explosions around mario's hands.... a mere coincidence?

... or proof Atari was involved in piracy?

Read more on this in the intro to the Atari 2600 section of the new Digital Press Guide!! I wrote a little conspiracy theory in there and am curious about your thoughts on that :)

Cheers,

Marco

I wish PAL Xenophobe used the PAL-M Standard, so I could play it on my TV      .

Speaking about PAL-M:

I have never seen a true PAL-M dump. All Brazilian binaries I have checked so far, are 100% pure NTSC (no PAL colors).

Does anybody know of a real PAL-M cart, that shows wrong colors, when played on NTSC :?: :?: :?:
