Grandma's Revenge binary (Merry Christmas!)

Recommended Posts

Technically it's still Christmas here (Pacific time zone :) )

Anyway, here is Grandma's Revenge, one of the games from Stella's Stocking. It has been extracted from the Stella's Stocking binary and converted to UA bankswitching.

If you are using Stella, change the game properties for this game to "UA Bankswitching." Harmony cart users may need to change the file extension to .ua instead of .bin for the game to work properly. It will also work with the CC/CC2 but I can't help you there.

The game has one and two player options. You can play the game using the joystick in the left port or the driving controller in the right port (select options using joystick.) It also has a hidden Easter egg game.

Enjoy!

Over here it's already the 26th, but since that's a holiday in Germany too: Merry Christmas to you too and thank you for the binary. :) But just to be precise the original Cuttle Cart doesn't support UA bankswitching, so unfortunately you can't play your game with it.

Where is the source code so we all can make driving controller games?

Read the zombie chase source, in the samples directory. It supports driving controllers.

Thanks for the game, batari. Loads of fun - I love games with powerups!

I'll get this added to the Stella properties database right away. If you like, please send me all the info you want included in the properties entry, as follows. If you're not sure of an entry or it doesn't apply, just leave it blank.

 Cartridge_MD5,
 Cartridge_Manufacturer,
 Cartridge_ModelNo,
 Cartridge_Name,
 Cartridge_Note,
 Cartridge_Rarity,
 Cartridge_Sound,
 Cartridge_Type,
 Console_LeftDifficulty,
 Console_RightDifficulty,
 Console_TelevisionType,
 Console_SwapPorts,
 Controller_Left,
 Controller_Right,
 Controller_SwapPaddles,
 Display_Format,
 Display_YStart,
 Display_Height,
 Display_Phosphor,
 Display_PPBlend,

EDIT: FYI, the latest version of Stella autodetects this as UA bankswitching, so you don't even need to manually change it. But it would still be nice to get this ROM added to the properties database ...

The game can use either a joystick or driving controller in the right port, but I think it's better to specify joystick for both. DC emulation doesn't work well anyway (nothing against Stella, it's just hard to mimic the experience with a keyboard or mouse) and I figure a Stelladaptor would need it set as a joystick to work right anyway.

Thanks a lot. How about a PAL60 version? There shouldn't be a lot of changes required.
