lonesome_pa
Cool. I loved that game. By any chance, are they any screenshots yet? A rough release date?
Sir Plus
You guys should really check out the hacks page.... there's a lot of really good stuff there. In the lower-left of the label, you will see your answer
Thomas Jentzsch
You guys should really check out the hacks page....there's a lot of really good stuff there. In the lower-left of the label, you will see your answer Yup, though you should try Cybergoth Galaxian to get the right impression.
Sir Plus
Oops! Good point (I thought that he did both of them)!
Thomas Jentzsch
Oops! Good point (I thought that he did both of them)! AFAIK, the Cybergoth version is based on Jess' version, just with removed borders.
dwh
Between the Atari Age store and Hozer Vidio's updated site, I am going to have to rob a lot more banks!I've spent $360 just here at Atari Age and well over $800 at Hozer Vidio in the last two years. If only I had all the money the stock market sucked under($12,000! )....Oh yeah, the new Galaxian looks great. That's why y'all shouldve bought a Cuttle Cart when you had the chance! .. although I'll admit that label looks mighty tasty.. hmmm.. I just might have to fork out for dedicated carts for hacks/homebrews sometime soon enough
Sir Plus
That's why y'all shouldve bought a Cuttle Cart when you had the chance! Could you rub the salt in a little deeper please. Dont forget the eyes.
Snider-man
although I'll admit that label looks mighty tasty You should see some of the labels Hozer is providing too. Damn. It looks like EVERYONE is producing some real quality works. Carts that actually look like they rolled off the Atari assembly line just today. Makes the original VII labels I cobbled together look quite...sniff...mundane...

Damn, the more I look at it the harder I get

Godzilla
http://www.atariage.com/hack_page.html?Sys...oftwareHackID=1 is that it? I have to say that 2600 galaxian is one of the few 2600 arcade ports (like donkey kong,) that I thought had really bad gameplay compared to the arcade. Just doesn't capture it. At least it looks a damn sight better than donkey kong. :-) I'd love to see someone take a good 2600 platform game (like pitfall 2 or montezuma, for example,) and hack them into a GOOD 2600 donkey kong, or jr. mvigor
I checked out the Hack listing for this title... What is the difference between the original and this title? Slightly changed enemy and player graphics? Is that it?
Sir Plus
As Thomas pointed out..... did you check BOTH hack listings? But yes, graphic changes.
mvigor
For anyone else who want to see, this is the correct hack to look at: http://www.atariage.com/hack_page.html?Sys...ftwareHackID=57 However, I wonder if the orange border was really removed, or if it is still there and is not colored black like the background. Sir Plus
There's a forum thread around here someplace. Use the search function with the words galaxian border to find it. The thread is a bit scrambled, though (why do they do that?? Is it me??). Did I say that the resident programmers are great?!?

Slightly changed enemy and player graphics? Is that it? That and the removal of the border.. which sort of make's all the difference in my book. Galaxian was supposed to take place in SPACE, not some orange box

NE146
NOW WE'RE TALKING BABY!!!!!!!1 That looks really sweet. Although as Rob can probably attest, I think A Better Pacman has had more name changes and more 3rd party labels than any other 2600 hack out there
SS
Here's another for your enjoyment! Oh yea, sign me up! That's one sweet looking label.
foxglove9
I love that Pac-Man label!! The Galaxian one is nice too, but PacMan has always been my favorite.
