The_Laird
What's the other 8 bit version? It came out on the Amstrad CPC, Sinclair Spectrum and Commodore 64. They were all terrible. Mind you the PC, ST and Amiga version were not much better.
Rex Dart
Aww, that stinks. I'm just trying to scratch that "own a home copy of STUN Runner" itch that I've had for over 20 years. I'll shut up about it now.
jeremysart
I already threw this out there in an earlier XM thread, but Crystal Castles would be great. Not only would it sound good with XM, but it would be fully possible to have an Arcade perfect port, and room to throw in some extras. Also, this project would be perfect for any XM programmer, since Crystal Castles was slated to be released for the 7800, but never seen the light of day. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II A port of Duke Nukem I or II, or very similar game. I am and always have been a fan of a good side scrolling platformer. Arkanoid Just a few very possible titles that would make use of the new sound chip, while also showing off its graphical power.

Show off the MARIA, XM and also all the sound chips with cool music. Edited February 15, 2011 by DracIsBack

DracIsBack
Sure, but it can load the hell out of some sprites... what if the scaling was already done & stored as sprites? Wouldn't the effect kind of be like POLE POSITION II as the signs and cars get closer?
