keitaro
Hi I'm a bit confused about Absolute/HES PAL versions. The only PAL versions were published by HES/Australia? Or were published in Europe too? In case of yes, by what publisher? To resume: NTSC (USA) -> Absolute PAL (Australia) -> HES PAL (Europe) -> ?? Mayhem
I believe Salu handled the distribution of the HES PAL versions in Europe. That's where most of mine were gotten from. They come in cardboard boxes instead of plastic clamshells, but are pretty much the same otherwise. The boxes still say HES on the front, but show "Distributed by Salu" below it. +Mitch
I believe the Salu releases were primarily in the UK. The rest of Europe got the standard HES release. Mitch

Mayhem
I would partly agree there... four of my five owned Salu 7800 games came from Germany.
+Mitch
Weird, all of my Salu 7800 cart came from the UK. (Telegames and others) The few 7800 carts I got from Germany where HES. Mitch
Atari_Falcon
I bought several games from the German mail order company "BAUR" back in 1990 (Double Dragon and F-18 Hornet) and those were the standard "HES" versions.
Mayhem
My HES stuff has come from Germany and Australia, so it varies... one might have been the UK. But given I refused to ever pay Telegames' stupid prices then my options were less

Yes, the game I have from Salu in cardboard box has the "Distributed by Salu" mark. I didn't notice this. And also says "Made in W. Germany" at backbox. All HES plastic boxed I've seen were from Australia. I don't know if this format was also in Europe. And about Telegames, is still in active? The_Laird
Yes Telegames are still going today, only the UK side still does retro games though.
