StanJr
Is the yellow label NES Metroid any more or less rare than the regular label version? Variable Stan
ubersaurus
All I know is that it's the rereleased one...it's probably a little rarer but not so much that it should affect price or anything.
King Atari
It's not rare at all. I've come across both label variants, the generic early one, and the more elaborate re-release. Speaking of re-releases, I always kinda wanted Nintendo to re-release the original Super Mario Bros. with a more elaborate label. Though I will admit, when you compare it to the other two SMB games, that is part of it's charm, simple old SMB.
A2600
Punch Out also was re-realeased with a new lable!!
King Atari
The re-release of Punch-Out is a somewhat different game from the original. Mike Tyson is gone, replaced by Mr. Dream.
StanJr
Well, which one is prettier? I mean, I'm partial to the original since it is in that "classic" NES style, but is the yellow one better? And to me THERE IS NO PUNCH OUT lest it be MIKE TYSON's Punch out. I'm so pretty Stan
Bratwurst
By default I'd say the original label's better. The reissue is just the same art found on the gameboy Metroid's packaging. Nintendo even used the art for a /Super Metroid/ poster. Shameful!
MegaManFan
And to me THERE IS NO PUNCH OUT lest it be MIKE TYSON's Punch out. Agreed, but I've still tried to get the other version on eBay just to own a LVAR for NES. And you might as well call me StanJrJr, because tonight I ate half of a taco pizza (medium) and took a nice long nap afterwards - just woke up a half hour or so ago! I used to have a boxed copy of the re-issue, but traded it for Chiller. I want the Mike Tyson version anyways.
Starcadefan
The Legend of Zelda and Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link were also re-released. The only difference is that the re-release cartridges are are gray. The original cartridges are gold.
MegaManFan
Agreed, but I've still tried to get the other version on eBay just to own a LVAR for NES. What's a LVAR? Short for Label Variation. L-Var. I have more friggin' 2600 LVAR's than I know what to do with!

Its GREAT to be me, isn't it? Ok, I think I'll get the old school label then! Thanks peeps! Decisive Stan
King Atari
Label variant, I get it. Label variants are cool when there's two or three, but when there's a slew of them, it can be a pain.
