toymailman
BANK HEIST - 260,986 - WOO HOOO!! Holy Cow!!! That is amazing. It shattered my current TG record of 82k. How the heck did you get by the levels where the delay between when you touch a bank and when a cop car appears goes to zero? When I get in the upper 70k to lower 80k range the cop cars appear instantly and then get me. Great job!

I don't GET it... later in the game it also starts to take a long time to fuel up because cops get better at escaping/ hunting you down. How did you do it Oyama? I don't GET it... later in the game it also starts to take a long time to fuel up because cops get better at escaping/ hunting you down. How did you do it Oyama? When I was knowing and training Bank Heist, I studied my strategies to score more points on Level 8 (Hardest Difficulty). The screenshot shows "Skill 8" which I selected just for training. As a basic tip, I DIDN'T shoot dynamites continuously. <--LEVEL 8 On Level 8 / Bankersfield Board, I often hunted a bank ONCE at a time to minimize the risk of touching the cop car. Each time I touched a bank, I quickly pressed Fire Button to shoot a dynamite (often above the number of points which I scored via touching a bank) and tried to destroy a car cop immediately. I let the 1st board of Level 8 after touching at least 9 banks. I avoided touching another bank when 1 cop car was in the gamefield, and the corners of gamefields. <--Dynamite shot above "30" (via touching a bank) <--Dynamite shot near a cop car at the top of maze Level 8 - Silver Dollar Board: Same tactic which I used on Banksfield Board. See the pictures. <--Level 8 - Silver Dollar Board <--A cop car present on the gamefield Level 8 - Flat Broke Board: I avoided this board because the delay between touching a bank and appearing a cop car is shorter than 2 previous boards. Note that a cop car is very close to me after hunting a bank, as seen below. It makes almost impossible to complete this board with 9 or more banks touched. Quickly I moved my car to the left at the beginning of this board (with a "full fuel"), then, I moved it to right to leave the Flat Broke Board. <--A cop car is very close to me on Flat Broke Board!! Level 8 - Heistown Board: Same scheme which I used on Flat Broke Board. See pictures below. <--A cop car hunted me after I got the 1st bank!! <--More difficult to escape!! Each time I let Level 8 - Heistown Board, I sometimes tried Heistown Board (note: this board refers to Level 7). Note that the delay between touching a bank and appearing a cop car is longer than previous board. When I tried Heistown Board, I used the same tactic applied on Banksfield and Silver Dollar Boards, but avoiding squared areas and corners. <--Level 7 (Heistown) The sequence of waves on Level 8 repeats until you lose all your lives, and is the following: Banksfield Silver Dollar Flat Broke Heistown 1: refers to level 8 Heistown 2: refers to level 7 Edited June 11, 2011 by oyamafamily

Gorf was my favorite arcade game back in the day, and I enjoy the 2600 port as well. I like when games have distinctly different levels to them.
