NightSprinter
So, does anyone know what would be the appropriate button to swap out for the standard pause button on an Atari 7800? As the topic suggests, I want to be able to pause and toggle color/b&w on 2600 games (easier than using difficulty switches in Starmaster). Additionally, I do want to try to leave the 7800 case as untouched as possible (save for a later s-video mod).
zylon
You could either replace the button with one from Radio Shack, buy one from Best Electronics like I did, or you can make a paddle fire button work, but some modding of button push rod required. Nukey Shay
...or you could use hacks that make the assigned function 7800-compatable
zylon
I misread the OP's intentions. The power switch from a C380 console will suit your purposes, but you'd still have to trim the actuation plunger on the console top.
NightSprinter
No harm done, Zylon. Surprisingly enough, I have the Sears version of the C380. Not sure if it's worth cannibalizing a system that works fine for that.
zylon
Try a power button from a Genny 2 console. There's millions of those around unwanted.
PAC MAN FEVER
you could always just tape the pause button down when you want B/W
