IceCold
I bought an n64 from a used game store here called "record exchange". I was wondering if it has an expansion pak or not. It does not have the red thing I remember that says like "do not remove" or something liek that. It just has this black plastic thing. Does that mean it does or does not have an expansion pak? Also, what is the port on the bottom of the n64 for?
Bratwurst
This is what the official N64 expansion pack looks like:
IceCold
This is what the official N64 expansion pack looks like: Oh, that doesn't look like what I have. But what I have does not look like what is in there from the factory(at least I don't think). Maybe it's a third party expansion pak? IceCold
I guess the only way to find out is to play a game that uses the expansion pack and see if it works or not.
shep
Donkey Kong 64 would be that game. Also, on the bottom of the Nintendo 64 the port is used for add-on drives, ie, the Disk Drive...
Punisher5.0
That is the original module in the expansion slot. There are two colors for the expansion packs that I know of(red and blue).

But mine is black, and you say the 2 you know of are red and blue? Although I would assume you're right. That's what I thought, I just wanted to verify. Punisher5.0
Well I just found out that there was a black expansion pack made by Innovation. Is this what yours looks like?

No, mine doesn't really look like that. It's probably just the original thing in there, no expansion pak.

IceCold
Okay, that is what I have. A jumper pak. So that's just what normally came with the systems? That's what I interpreted from what I read.
Ze_ro
That's what Nintendo put in the system when it was sold. I guess it's just a bit of circuitry to tell the system that there's no extra RAM or something. The system won't work at all without something in that slot, so don't lose it. --Zero
