cimerians
Anyone play this game on PS2?? Its HARD AS HELL!!!!!! but oh so sweet I love it, pure carnage, I've never sworn so much playing a game like this. I think I haven't cursed and slammed a controller down like this since the last great Contra on the Super Nintendo. Ok, must get back and try that 3rd level again..... Scooterb23
I haven't tried Contra yet, but you should hear me playing Super Monkey Ball...the problem with that is that we just got a copy at work in our kids area...I can't play it that often... sdstuff64
Yes,it is hard as hell. Look here for more: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...t=17134&start=
cimerians
The code worked great and its almost a must unless you master every level which I'm trying to do. I actually got through level 1 and level 2 with only losing 2 lives. The patterns and memorization of the levels is pretty hard but its beatable if you have good memory and can figure out which weapons to use in certain situations. Oh and thanks for the link to the other topic.
sdstuff64
Oh and thanks for the link to the other topic. Anytime man. Sure it is hard as hell, but that is what Contra is ment to be!
Starscream
I got Contra the day it came out and I was blown away ! Yea, it's difficult but at least it still seemed like Contra. Now if Metal Slug would just come out for one of the modern 3..........
NebraskaDragon
One of the Slugs(I think its 3) is slated to come out on the PS2(in Japan anyway).
Starscream
I've been hearing rumors that one of/all of the Slugs were going to be on the PS2, but can't find anything definite. I can always hope
cimerians
That would be great. I haven't played it yet but I've heard its an all out slugfest like Contra. I know there was an arcade game as well that it was originally realeased. Hopefully they will release a new one for the new systems.
Starscream
If you have a PS1 or PS2, you can get Metal Slug X(made for the PS1). It may be a little hard to find but it's worth the $20-$30 it should cost. It's not nearly as nice looking as the Neo Geo version and is a little different, but it's so much fun to play

Heh. I don't know why anyone bothers with the one player mode of that game, except as a way to unlock stuff in multiplayer... (as a sidenote, SMB2 is better in every way...) cimerians
I had a Saturn with an import cart to play imports but I sold everything long ago. Oh well. Maybe I'll track down Metal Slug for PS1 (hopefully for $20 or so) and... I also have Super Monkey ball. I agree, it can be a big curse-fest also
