I used to think the jets would just fly directly into you, but if they pass you up and DON'T manage to crash into you on first try, they start to circle around you and aren't hard to pick off once they start that. OF course , I was bewildered the first time I saw this so I didn't think it was all that easy at first. Sometimes the jets seem to crash into the background trees. Or are they being shot by the enemy cannons? If they crash into the trees, you could hide behind them as your movement strategy. Yeah, it definitely gets harder with those jets! I never really developed a strategy for dealing with them other than trying to complete the level as quickly as possible.
