emkay
And, how does that type of shifting help speeding up charmode? In linear graphics, it may help because of the straight "copy", and bit shifting is available with register y? . While in charmode the buffer isn't linear, so you have to change the register anyways? Do you use all different "possible" combinations?
oky2000
Star Raiders is 8K and works with 8K RAM and uses Gr. 7. Means nothing - it's a milestone game of it's era thanks to it's gameplay and uniqueness at the time but isn't the best thing to happen for the A8 or computers in general. Star Raiders II is a very satisfying sequel and looks and sounds the best of all 4 versions released, nice to compare it to C64/CPC/ZX
José Pereira
Star Raiders is 8K and works with 8K RAM and uses Gr. 7. But the A8 version in the game it's totally different. Why? Is it because of some colour/DLIs/screen build? It's so strange they bother to create a totally new/different one that no one ever saw and that in all releases it is always the original one that comes on the package. Anyone knows the explanation for this? Edited December 10, 2011 by José Pereira
