Heaven/TQA
just my 4 cents to the "3d" discussion... (and btw... for the sidehit I never finish stuff... ) these are 4 demos I have written for ABBUC in 98/99 I guess... all are based on "move lists" and have nothing to do with 3d... judge yourself... oh... they even use PM overlays the way I use them most... and... I have used a nice techique for additional FX on >64kb machines... I had a simple idea... load the different data (fx, tables or code) into different banks... and if no banks are available then the next part is simply override the other fx in RAM... so... 1. RAM check 2. load block1 at $4000 ff. 3. switch to next ram bank (on 64k machines I guess it does not happen anywithing weird) 4. load block2 at $4000 ff. ... run demo TITEL51.XEX TITEL52.XEX TITEL53.XEX TITEL55.XEX
Heaven/TQA
ah... and intro #51 is a good example what happens when deadline caughts you and the main fx is missing in the end production... only intro gfx plus credits screen... but love xrays music there and the dynamics. José Pereira
Karol go there (into that other place, a 'Dark side' that some here think ...) and say what you think. Thanks. Edited December 1, 2011 by José Pereira
bpj1138
#53 crashes atari 800 win plus.. you should get bonus points for that.. Looks to me like translation tables, but with a static offscreen image instead of noise, though to get the differing spirals, you'd probably have to generate and use many different tables, perhaps this is why it cannot fit in 64K? in any case, I'll make a note of this message, maybe it will appear in techno babble #0... bpj1138
just like the "back to earth" movement..
Heaven/TQA
And atari800mac Emulator runs them, too
bpj1138
Calm down, I wasn't trying to discredit your work. The emulator actually seg-faulted, so it was the emulator that crashed, not your program. Also, the emulator detects when the emulated computer crashes, this did not happen..
