atariron82
*Brotherhood Bump!* It's official...count me in! Ever since I swapped my 2600(complete) for my next-door neighbor's 5200 (no controllers+games), that fateful day somewhere in 1984, I've been hooked. In my youthful mind I likened it to trading a Model-T for a Cadillac(that needed fixing) Looking back, I still can't help but think i got the better end of the deal Edited October 11, 2015 by atariron82

In my youthful mind I likened it to trading a Model-T for a Cadillac(that needed fixing) Looking back, I still can't help but think i got the better end of the deal Interesting comparison considering size, weight, popularity, reliability. I had a Cadillac once. Nearly the only thing that worked was the fuel gauge which always accurately pointed to empty. When it drove though, oh what a ride.
Lynxpro
Slowly but surely, we'll all turn the tide on the internet-hate for the 5200. It does immeasurably help the Cause that the 5200 has the greatest accessory controller of all time available for it and plenty of games that natively support it...

Nutsy Doodleheimer
What do I have to do to be part of this??? Own a working 5200 system primarily plus working controllers most importantly. Also the Atarimax SD multicart and a trak ball controller would be nice. And a tattoo with a heart and Atari 5200 emblazoned in the ribbon or "5200 for life" in gangster font tattoo.
+darryl1970
I supposed I could do that. A WANT the AtariMax SD, but waiting to suggest it as a Christmas gift possibility. I could put the tattoo right above my current 5200 console tattoo. Seriously though, is there an active 5200 group, because the 5200 is WAY under recognized! The Atarimax 5200 SD cart is absolutley worth owning. Especially there are some unreleased games, 8 bit computer conversions, and download roms to the SD card. That is pretty much the only 5200 group that I am aware of on the site.
SIO2
I used to play with the 5200 high scores club but I have been neglecting my 5200 recently. If you want to be in the brotherhood though I would just post "I am in" in this thread then add a big bold blue member of the 5200 brotherhood signature line to all your posts. After that just wait and see if anybody contests it. If a couple of days pass with no complaints you can get your tatoo.

+DrVenkman
Alright, now that I've replaced the 4052 chips inside the 4-port I got two weeks ago, all the keypad buttons are now registering properly, probably for the first time in decades. And having replaced the 4011 chip inide the "broken, not working right" Trak-Ball I received at the same time - thanks to personal diagnostic help from Dan Kramer - I guess I'm official. So, count me in. In fact, I have a second four-port unit inbound that I got for the price of - literally - a song, plus shipping ...

David Alexander
guess I should join in... I'm the ONLY person I know of in the universe who thinks the 5200 is Atari's best console and one of the greatest consoles ever! Not quite, there's more of us then most may know
bikeguychicago
If I haven't officially joined, I would also like to enter the fray. Wants: - AtariMax SD cart - Masterplay clone with paddle support
ZylonBane
If I haven't officially joined, I would also like to enter the fray. Sorry, your signature block isn't stupidly huge and eye-searingly multicolored enough to be a true member of the 5200 Brotherhood.
mykgerard
Hah I'm so slow on this. The 5200 is one of my favorite systems. I got my original system by trading all of my transformers for it with my Step-brother. Now I'm on my second and I have a couple dozen games as well as the trackball. I love this thing! So yes add me!

+CXK
As usual.. I'm late to the party. I'd like to join! I was just telling my fiance earlier today that (despite the hate for the system on the Internet) it is actually a really awesome console. True you may have to fix the controller or buy another one or two. But other than this annoyance. it's a really nice system.
Omega-TI
Can I join? Are there any minimum hardware requirements? Honestly though, I'd like to see photos of all the members 5200 setups.
