emkay
Some of those C64 guys really can impress with their artistic abilities. I wonder , what they could do on the A8 with a fully working GFX tool... G2F is a nice tool, but as it seems, it still misses features... This picture is using GRIOR 0 . But it's not fully usable.I had to use charset mode to add a colour, but still a colour is missing. As you might know, midline changes were easily possible, to re-use any GTIA register. Usually colours were changed, but this mean you change one colour at cpu speed . Changing the position of a player makes it possible to set more than one time per scanline... Using GPRIOR 0 allows to set 2 colours in the same time as one colour register has to be set. It's almost the same in GTIA modes. Re-using the PMG will offer more colours and resolution per scanline. So the best GFx Tool must allow to re-position PMG and to show it correct, as the original machine does.... Tezz
You can already do all that with the tool mk, it only doesn't handle displaying it 100% yet... as it happens Tebe is sorting that at the moment in the latest betas "Fixed display of PMG ... for prior0"

Another logical bug is the reduced abilities of re-using PMg when the screen is 48 bytes wide. If you want to use Raster changes it's limited to 40 bytes.... it has been better in earlier version. emkay
Some explanations on the picture. While the C64 version is recommended to have a special brightness on each colours - you might know C64 varies with that - on the A8 pic Medusa's face is already using 6 colours, five from one hue, AND the snakes use 3 extra colours. Three grays still available... or other colours.... have to check the midline changing correctness Edited December 29, 2011 by emkay

emkay
Could be interesting to finf the 100% style for using GPRIOR 0 in fullscreen pictures. A bit inversion/choice for the pixel below the PMg could solve miracles. As a 4(5) colour picture gets weird, because dark pixel become bright and vice versa. Just like the "change colours" feature , but only for the range of the PM object/range.
