thegamezmaster
The fix is already available via internet connected Wii. You have to download the Skyward Sword Save update channel from Wii Channel Store, then go to that channel and follow the instruction. This is for games already saved to the Wii's internal memory only. Hope it helps someone. Forgot I had to search for the fix.
cimerians
I wonder if this can manually be downloaded and installed like from a PC to the memory card. Workaround if you DONT want to use the patch: http://www.okaygeek.com/blog/nintendo-issues-fix-for-zelda-skyward-sword-game-breaking-gl.html " Important information regarding the Song of the Hero quest Thank you for choosing Nintendo’s products, we hope you have enjoyed them. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword™ was released for the Wii™ console on November 20, 2011. It has since come to our attention that if a specific sequence of actions are performed when completing the Song of the Hero quest, further progress in the game can’t be made. This prevents the player from being able to complete the game. The following provides information on how to prevent this from occurring, and how to resolve the situation if it has occurred. We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused by this issue. How to prevent this situation from occurring: To complete the Song of the Hero quest, the player must visit three different locations to collect three dragon songs. To prevent the situation where the game can no longer be completed from happening: Complete the quests in Faron Woods or Eldin Volcano first. Do not go to the Lanayru Desert first. If the Thunder Dragon’s Song from the Lanayru Desert has already been collected first, do not talk to a Goron named Golo until the other songs have been collected. (Golo is found at the entrance to Lanayru Mine.) What prevents the game from being completed? In the quest for the Song of the Hero, if the Thunder Dragon Song in the Lanayru Desert is collected first and Golo the Goron is spoken to before the other songs are collected, the cut scenes that start the sequences to get the songs in the other areas won’t occur. This prevents being able to make any further progress in the game. What to do if you are experiencing this situation: If you are experiencing this situation, we are able to repair your saved data. For information on how to send your save data to Nintendo, please call 1-800-255-3700. We are also planning on releasing a program that will repair save data for those who have their Wii connected to the Internet. We are currently working on preparations for the release of this program. Information on how to download and use it will be made available through support.nintendo.com once the program is ready for release." thegamezmaster
I'm not sure. What I did was from what was on the Nintendo website. I had to search for Skyward Sword glitch and found the answer from a question someone asked.
Hyper_Eye
What a terrible way to patch games. You would think Nintendo would have learned something from the original Xbox which was able to sensibly apply patches to games online last generation. I wonder if the patch looks for homebrew. Emehr
I'm a little confused by what causes the bug. It makes it sound like you have a choice which order to collect the songs but the dialogue coerces you to do Faron Woods first then Lanaryu Desert. You'd have to intentionally go against the flow of the story to trigger the bug right? I'm especially confused by this: If the Thunder Dragon’s Song from the Lanayru Desert has already been collected first, do not talk to a Goron named Golo until the other songs have been collected. (Golo is found at the entrance to Lanayru Mine.) Don't you have to talk to the Goron to even enter the mine in the first place? I mean, he gives you the key to the mine!
