Maria Whittaker was a famous UK Page 3 girl (Sun newspaper page 3 features topless models). She never did porn.

Many UK Page 3 girls also starred in video games (Samantha Fox (Strip Poker), Maria Whittaker (Barbarian, Xmas Box), Joanne Guest (Love Bytes), Corinne Russel (Vixen), Many (Cover Girl Strip Poker)

Barbarian was a popular game by Palace Software (UK) available for C64 and lesser computers (ZX,CPC). It was released by Epyx in USA called Death Sword.

The sequel Barbarian II was also a big hit in UK. Released in USA as Axe of Rage

The was also Barbarian from Psygnosis, different game, available on ST, Amiga, C64

True story: my friends dad, who looked exactly like Columbo (the TV show cop), won a competition in the Sun newspaper around the time of Barbarian game for C64/ST and he won a Rover executive car worth £30,000 AND a dinner date with Maria Whittaker! FFS god is such a cunt sometimes

She used to pop past Maplin all the time as she lived in Hounslow at the modelling time with mum and knew the local hair people a few shops down...

She was lovely....All I could down was stare with all my hormones doing cartwheels and causing trouser malfunctions..

orpheuswaking , were you able to get one of the dumps to work? Do I need to create a 128KB dump? Thanx!

I wish I could but doens't that requrire the input hardware for SIC. Or are you suggestingn that I use my MaxFlash hardware in conjunction with that utility?

Is there an easier way to determine if the cartridge is PAL?

I created a couple more dumps, maybe they can be used?

Please visit this site and quit posting that other garbage. It is a Sic Cartridge and dumpable with the program on this site called sicdump which is an Atari program just select 128k as the output dump.

Now considering that I don't possess an XE machine, how does one flash/dump this then with a 800XL (noted in original post). Every example I've found shows XE machine.

The cartridge is supposed to be XE/XL compatible. And I don't possess SIO2PC hardware (noted in post), outside of Maxflash device. It is my understanding those are not the same. So where exactly do I plug the cart in?

Thanx orpheuswaking.

I have a new laptop coming soon and maybe I'll invest this month in a SIOtoPC device. I realize I don't understand what the differences are in saved formats and the banks, but I thought maybe Atarimax Flash programmer could read those banks and copy them. Usually the Atarimax tells me when something is not right and it read each bank and dumped it without error. Oh well. Thanx for your help. I never invested before in SIC Carts since I had Atarimax carts. Plus the SIC cart is such a strange size and doesn't fit in 1200XL and 800/400.

Chris sent me the cart, it's definately a SIC!Cart with a laser printed label. the box cover and "manual" are also both laser printed. It does look pretty nice though.

Initially I tried it on a 320k NTSC - worked no issues, so I then tried it on a 64k NTSC 600XL, I wasn't expecting much but to my suprise it worked fine.

I also tried it on a PAL 65XE and 800XL (but didn't take pictures) - worked fine on both.

Using SIC!Dump I got a working 128k dump that runs fine in Altirra as a SIC!Cart file.

Nice work, orpheuswaking! Funny that it works on a range of machines but apparently not NTSC 800XL, per chrislynn5's experience.

I'd love to have a Barbarian cartridge myself. I've read the play value could be better, but I like the theme, and does it ever look good! (However I do wish there were some splashes of color, say red or blue, to break up the "greenscale" or "yellowscale" or whatever it is.)

From your post, you had it working on a PAL 800XL? Why won't it work on an NTSC 800XL? I don't understand. And it works on the NTSC 600XL with 64k.
