My "original" used one has been working for quite a while without one.. didn't even know it was missing until I saw some board pics and looked at mine. I don't know your situation though maybe you want to set your house on fire. The answer to your questions could definately be answered by Yurkie if you pm him otherwise I am sure someone can answer your questions.
