Bionic Commando Rearmed

Is that the first game? Yeah I liked it a lot but the controls are really hard to get used to. I gave up but I got really close to the end if I remember.

I got the first, yes. I didn't get around to play it yet, just had a curious look at the remote-play, since it's my first game supporting it. Might come in handy when my girls occupy the telly ;)

I did not buy the second one cause it features online only DRM. I wonder if they removed the DRM on that one....(doubt it)

Yes, that's a pity. In the states you can get it for 4.99 right now though. Personally I still hope they'll release this one for the PS3 as well:

So, I'm slowly getting into it! I already cleared the first area and beat the first 8 challenge rooms. Also got the first two trophies nailed:

All others sound a lot harder to do ;)

It's a great game. I've got it on Steam, and it absolutely PUNISHES me for not having trouble with the original. I've only two more medals to collect.

Oh wow! Did you succeed in all the challenge rooms?

I'm currently stuck there in room 51. I've done 300 tries already but still don't even make half of it :ponder:

No, I cringe at most of them. Especially the six secret ones I unlocked. That, and the one for Super-Hard mode are the only two medals I have left. I showed a friend of mine the game, and he was speechless at just how difficult it was (especially trying to get the "Catburglar" trophy early in the game).

Some of that stuff is unbelievably hard, yes. I now decided to give up on the challenge rooms as well, after no less than 1152(!) unsuccessful tries for room 51 :o :o :o

It's really a joke. I know exactly what to do and how it's executed, but it requires (HD-) pixel perfect positioning and split-second timing with absolutely no room for error :ponder:

Well then, my new goal for this game is 11/12 trophies ;)

I have no doubt that it's hard (Or that if you couldn't do it, I certainly would stand no chance :)). But I was surprised watching a video just now that it didn't look too terrible.

I guess I'd have to see for myself to fully grasp just how difficult it is (This game has been on my backburner since it released).

Too bad that you got so close to the end only to hit a brick wall. Beating the game on the highest difficulty level also sounds next to impossible.

Hehe, on the stats screen at the end of the video you can see that the player did over 600 tries on the room, with a success rate of 0%, so even when the video makes it look easy, it's probably the only time he made it to the end ;)

He's a much better player than me though, as I need a couple of "thinking breaks" on the way down, while he's doing it in one take.

Actually the hardest part is the very first swing already, I survived that in ~ 1 of 50 tries. Only two times I made it to the end of the room, dying on the very last spikes block before the finish line

Well there's some good news here, after deciding that I don't need that trophy I did just a few more, rather relaxed tries and had a lucky run on my 1291th attempt :)

I managed to get that one as well. If you have the boots, Power Claw, and upgraded grenades.. Area 01 is surprisingly easy for "Pacifist Pride".

Oh wow! I didn't know that you could kill the area 1 boss with grenades, so I got me that trophy by biting through area 5. Good practice for "Cat Burglar" I hope ;)

Todays trophy was easy to get, since while hunting for Yashichis I already collected most weapon upgrades as well, except the one for the bazooka:

I finally beat the game for the first time, so this trophy came more or less automatically:

I'm still working on challenge room 56 - What a beast!

I showed a friend of mine the game, and he was speechless at just how difficult it was (especially trying to get the "Catburglar" trophy early in the game).

A tough one, but I got that as well today :)

Yeah, that one's just a smidge easier once the Vector Cannon is obtained.

If everything else fails, I think you could get that trophy when playing on easy as well - and AFAIK there's none of the flying laser drones around then.

I'm getting closer to finishing challenge room 56, as I can make it up to the last quarter now. Maybe another 2-3 days and I should be able to make it through :D

Might as well check first if super hard will net you the achievement for hard. It doesn't always work that way in some games.

Edit - Super Hard will net you the achievement for Hard, at least on the Xbox 360 version.

Yup, I had that checked for the PS3 version, the H4>

I think I'll go for the extra training though and still play the game on hard first. Should be fun, with the challenges and (most of) the secret hunting out of the way :)
