Frankie
I have been using my SIDE cart with no problems. I wanted to modify the partitions and typed FDISK when I saw the error "IDE driver not installed" What does that mean and how to I fix it so I can run FDISK? flashjazzcat
Sounds like you're using a salty mixture of driver / FDISK versions here. The old FDISK used to check for a global "SIDE" symbol before it would run, but now that the software is APT compatible and usable with the (still unreleased although months in beta) APT driver for IDE Plus, this check was removed, and you'll just get a timeout if there's no driver. I'd say head back over to http://atari8.co.uk/side/ and download the latest ROM, which should have the correct driver and FDISK built-in. Note: if this is the way your SIDE arrived, someone f**ked up. FDISK and everything you need are on CAR: - no need to use any disk-based software, BTW. Frankie
Ok, now I feel dumb. Turns out I had an older copy of FDISK in a tools directory and it was getting picked up before car: Frank

Just make sure CAR: is the first entry in the path.
