Atari2008
Ah, thanks for the good tips! Yeah I started blowing into the carts, reminded me of the NES days. I'll do the q-tip and alcohol thing, sounds like a good idea. I've tried wiggling the cart too. But when it does work, the games look awesome now. Nice and sharp. Atari2008
Update: So when I plug in a game and turn on the Inty, the TV is black at first. If I wiggle the cartridge around I'll get a gray screen with interference. Do that long enough, I'll get the game but in black and white and with no audio. Sometimes, but not most of the time, I'll get the game working properly in crystal clear color and sound. What's going on? I'm thinking either an issue with my Inty or the Inty's signal isnt strong enough or consistent and my TV doesn't like it? It's an LCD but i've used my Atari 2600 and Channel F System 2 on it just fine. This is the first time I've had an issue.
Ransom
The Intellivision's cartridge port allows cartridges to be inserted too far, so that there is no good contact. There is a line on each cartridge that shows how far it should be inserted. If it's not inserted just right, the game won't start or it will crash. That could be at least part of your issue. It takes some time and patience to learn just how far to insert the cartridges. It's one of the quirky things about the Intellivision. Atari2008
Thanks Ransom! That has worked like a charm, I don't think I have the magic touch yet but I'm getting it working more often than not.
