That is, if you have kids!!!!

The last week or so i have been playing intellivision with the kids.

(when i can get them away from 3DS and Wii)

We have played a bunch of different games.

Here are their favorite to play so far:

Night Stalker (they think it is scary!)

Fathom (they love mermaids)

Diner (when they kill mugsy they cheer!)

Burgertime

Popeye

Frog Bog (who doesnt like that game?)

Also, they LOVE Maze craze on the 2600

Any of you guys play retro games with your kids or they just watch?

My nephew and I play the Intellivision from time to time. He's too young yet to play most of the games himself, but he likes Frog Bog and the target shooting game in Sharp Shot. The one he plays the most is Snafu on the Aquarius, mainly because I always have the Aquarius hooked up and because he's learned to launch it himself from the Aquaricart. He likes to watch me play even more, though, especially Thunder Castle, BurgerTime, and Diner. Oddly enough, space games—which were the quintessential "boys' games" during the 80s—don't seem to do anything for him so far.

I think really great music and sound effects make a big impression with kids, even more than great graphics, especially kids who have some musical talent. Most of the games I mentioned are known for their excellent sound and music, which I'm sure is one reason my nephew likes them so much.

My son usually requests one of the following: Beauty and the Beast, Burgertime, Diner, DK Jr, Thunder Castle, AD&D Cloudy or Buzz Bombers. Those are his current faves to watch me play.

As an aside, yesterday as we were playing he looked around Cmart Enterprises and said, "One day this will all be mine". Seriously. He's 7. :-D
