LamptonWorm
Hi everyone, First post! Stumbled upon Batari and being a fan of 2600 had to give it a go. Really impressed and managed to get one of my old games ported in a few hours, amazing. I've got a question that has probably been asked a few times, it isn't so much about storing a highscore value, it's about displaying it. Can I show the player score and a highscore "out of the box" or do I need something special to do that kind of thing? The built in "playerscore" works fine, but only offers one score, no way to show the latest highscore achieved. Ideas and help much appreciated for a newbie Cheers, LW. Sounds like you want to display two scores on the screen at the same time. R.T. gave a link that lets to store two scores. I don't think anyone has made a two six-digit score kernel for bB. You may have to resort to alternating between displaying the high score and current score. Edited May 10, 2012 by theloon
LamptonWorm
Hi, Turns out showing the highscore when gameplay is idle, then changing it to real time score during is good enough for right now but yes ideally I'd be able to have live score on the left hand side and highscore on the right. I don't need the 6 digit, the only other solution I found offered 2 digits (http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/113146-minikernel-player-scores/) but I need 3. It's ok for now, I'll use the flip method until something else comes up. Cheers for the speedy replies LW.
