Mendon
Kotaku is reporting that Pikmin 2 will be released on June 10th as a Nintendo Selects title.... $19.99: http://kotaku.com/5910012/pikmin-2-makes-its-north-american-wii-debut-june-10 Mendon
FireStar
Nintendo must be ashamed of the "new play control" logo. At least we're getting Pikmin two at a reasonable price considering Europeans have had this game since the other two new play control games. Chuck D. Head
This happened because I bought the Gamecube version for my wife last Christmas. I could't stomach paying $25-30 for a loose disc, so I bought the nicest complete copy I could for around $50. Figures.
ComputerSpaceFan
I'm interested in this one. Is it really better than the first game? Most reviewers say so. I'm curious what you guys think? Tempest
Good. Now maybe the GC version will come down in price like Pikmin 1 did.

Emehr
I may actually pick this one up. By the time I got the first game and realized I might want the sequel it was already out of my price range.

Tempest
So I guess both of you are replying "Yes" to my original question? No clue, I've never played the second one. It was always too pricey.
krslam
I'm interested in this one. Is it really better than the first game? Most reviewers say so. I'm curious what you guys think? Loved both games. I thought P2 was a nice upgrade to the original: more to do, some new Pikmin colors to learn, new areas to explore and critters to fight. Harder than the first game. Didn't feel as fresh to me as P1, though, but that's the way it is with sequels.

Pikmin 2 doesn't limit the number of days you can stay on the planet, so there's not as much pressure to get so much done each day. But a lot of the levels take place in dark, dreary underground caverns, which don't have the atmosphere and charm of the outdoor levels. And instead of trying to rebuild your ship to get home, you're just collecting junk to pay off your boss's debt, so the story isn't quite as interesting. I prefer the original overall, but Pikmin 2 is still very good and well worth $20.
