boxpressed
Title says it all. I'm taking apart and cleaning a 5200 Trak-Ball controller and the color, size, and weight of the trackball itself are so familiar. I don't have a pool/billiard ball for comparison. Could make for some cool customizations, if it is! Edited May 25, 2012 by boxpressed
Crazy Climber
That would be awesome if it is....custom 8 ball versions will be hitting the marketplace soon!!
Charlie_
I think it is. I seem to remember stories of people replacing the ball with an eight ball.

boxpressed
Cool. I'll be on the lookout for spare billiard balls. Do any of you lubricate the trackball bearings? What do you use?
82atari5200
It is.. Mine currently houses an 8-ball I procured from Commander Ragtime's Good Time Emporium back in '93. Churchstreet Station. Orlando, Fl
boxpressed
OK, I'm about to make this thread even more salacious. The lubricant you want is 3-in-One oil. It is next to the WD-40 in the hardware store. Works beautifully on the bearings.
BigO
Cool. I'll be on the lookout for spare billiard balls. Do any of you lubricate the trackball bearings? What do you use? I used a wax lubricant that I use on my bike chain and cables. It doesn't get gooey or stiff or attract dust.
Rybags
You'd want to measure the size before committing to buying/stealing a pool ball. There's various sizes depending on game (Pool, Snooker, 9-ball) and most coinop tables use a slightly smaller cue ball so the return mechanism can work.
