+atari2600land
This probably is too high a price, but I just thought I'd ask anyway. I saw a 7800 with two controllers and about 8 or so games for $70. I think one of them was an Activision game, which I had read was kinda rare.
gorfcadet
Really depends on the games. Was the system tested? Power supply included? Were the controllers prolines? Once you get your 7800 you'll probably want to invest in a 3.00 radio shack rca to coax adapter and one of Ax's Nes pad to Atari mods for 2 button games. The price might be a little high if most or all of the games are commons. 78s on ebay have been creeping up lately though so your not in crazy land at that price. Be aware for around 100.00 you can get a modern tv friendly pre modded system from Best Electronics since you're already in that ballpark. Might be worth it if you use a flat screen.
fernando marrin
Best Electronics modded systems look NEW, they even have the original protection on the front aluminium band
pce_collector
I don't think $70 is all that bad considering that it comes with two controllers and the games. Of course, the condition of the items and the shipping costs could change that. If it still seems like too much, you can always offer $60 or $65. sqoon
Probably about right for the system with 8 games, so long as a working power adapter and two controllers are included. I agree with the previous post about the Best Electronics systems (their stuff is top notch and comes with original manufacturer's 90 day warranty), but for similar price will not come with 8 games. Norannyo
I paid $35 Dollars for an Atari 7800 with 1 controller, power adapter, and original rf cord with no games. Got this at the local flea market. He wanted like 4 bucks per game, and at that point I had already spent most of the money I came with.
Crazy Climber
I dont know, it's local so you get it right away and don't have to pay shipping. Not a "deal" but not too terribly overpriced if you factor in what shipping would cost you. Plus you probably get to test it first and maybe even get a 30 day warranty or something. Local sales you can always "haggle" a little too, maybe start at $50 and see what happens...
gorfcadet
You can usually get cheaper from the marketplace forums, but you'd have to pay shipping. 4 games for 16.00.... hmmm... depends on the games. Of course don't confuse rarity and price with "good." The better 7800 titles are often the commons or the stuff in the AA store. Commons: Joust Robotron Food Fight Dig Dug Donkey Kong The Atari Age store has a ton of spectacular games as well. You could also contact Pac Man Plus here on the boards and see if he has any of his homebrews still available. Moon Cresta, Scramble, and Rip Off were all great. I just regret missing a few of his releases before I started frequenting the boards.
Austin
I'm curious to know what games come with it. That will make all the difference.
